Energy efficiency: The clear winner in Glasgow - The Glasgow City Council and local housing associations have increasingly implemented the Passive House standard into new build and retrofit projects. In the run-up to COP26, the City of Glasgow this summer hosted the Ice Box Challenge. The Challenge is a scientific demonstration and public installation, visually highlighting the benefits of energy-efficient buildings. The project included a student competition to select the winning design, a guess-the-remaining-ice contest for the public and other opportunities to engage with the community.
